Virtual Blue™ Chroma Key Paint

**NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH**

Professional-grade blue screen chroma key paint for cinematic virtual production environments.

As chroma key virtual production continues to expand into an ever-growing range of video production applications, virtual sets are becoming increasingly photo-realistic and cinematic in nature. These environments demand more nuanced lighting setups, with deeper contrast, realistic shadow interplay, and careful tonal control, to match the look and feel of live-action settings.

In these scenarios, advanced virtual production supervisors and directors of photography (DPs) often prefer cyclorama backgrounds with darker chroma key greens or even chroma key blues to better complement sophisticated lighting schemes and virtual environments.

In direct response to requests from some of the most advanced virtual production experts in the world, Pro Cyc is proud to introduce Virtual Blue™, a premium-grade chroma key paint engineered specifically for modern virtual production and XR studios.

With its unmatched chroma purity and optical consistency, Virtual Blue™ sets a new benchmark for professional-grade blue screen performance, offering the cleanest, most accurate spectrum blue available of any blue screen paint on the market. For best results, use Pro Cyc’s Grey Bonding Primer as a base coat.

🎨 Blue vs. Green: Which Chroma Key Paint Should You Use?

Choosing between Chroma Key Blue and Chroma Key Green depends on your lighting setup, camera system, and production goals. Both are engineered for clean, professional keying — but each excels in different scenarios.

🎨 Virtual Green®
Our original high-luminance chroma key green, designed for traditional studios and controlled lighting environments.

    1. Best For: General-purpose keying, broadcast studios, live-streaming, daylight scenes, large studios with even lighting

    2. Lighting: Brighter tone works well in daylight or high-key lighting
    3. Spill Control: Higher brightness = more potential for spill

    4. Lighting Style: Works best with flat, even key/fill lighting and focused back-lighting on talent

    5. Color Temperature Range: 5000 K – 6500 K (daylight-balanced)

    6. Sensor Compatibility: Most digital cameras favor green channel (less noise)

    7. Keying Behavior: Bright, punchy chroma channel for fast keying

🎬 Virtual Blue™
A deep, ultra-flat, low-spill, high chroma blue color created for cinematic virtual production and advanced lighting scenarios.

    1. Best For: Film & TV stages, cinematic lighting, reflective props, green clothing

    2. Lighting: Lower reflectivity ideal for moody or warm-tone lighting
    3. Spill Control: Lower brightness = reduced spill and softer edge transitions

    4. Lighting Style: Works best with soft, cinematic lighting with shadows and contrast

    5. Color Temperature Range: 2800 K – 5000 K (tungsten to neutral)

    6. Sensor Compatibility: Better separation in blue channel for detailed keying

    7. Keying Behavior: Smooth edge control and minimal skin/hair contamination
